Importation Regulations

The following paragraphs will provide you with the information regarding the importation of tranquilizing projectors and why it is legal based upon the Criminal Code and the Firearms act, which regulates Canadian Firearms.

Subsection 84(3) of the Criminal Code sets out the following exemption from the provisions of the Firearms Act and from the firearms' possession offences of the Criminal Code. Furthermore, for the purposes of sections 91 to 95, 99 to 101, 103 to 107, and 117.03 of this Act and the provisions of the Firearms Act, the following weapons are deemed not to be firearms:

(C) "Any shooting device that is,

(i) Designed exclusively for the slaughter of domestic animals, the tranquilizing of animals, or the discharging of projectiles with line attached to them, and

(ii) Intended by the person in possession of it to be used exclusively for the purposes for which it is designed;"

Having been provided with this information you can see that the importation of tranquilizing projectors is legitimate. Our projectors discharge at a maximum muzzle velocities less then 450 ft/sec or 131.064 meters/sec.
