Power Control Modifications

June 14, 2002

Dear Valued Customer,
As you all know the company has gone through many changes over the past few months. Not unlike the past, our mission is to continue improving our equipment by responding to our customer's valued suggestions.
In response to your feedback, we have improved our dart designs resulting in better flight patterns and superior structural integrity. In addition, we have reduced the velocity differentials when comparing power control setting #3 versus setting #4 on our model 193 and model 196 projectors. Complimenting this design change, we have also improved power control settings #1 and #2. In the final analysis, many of our customers are now experiencing ideal impact velocities.

Our records indicate that you may benefit from our recommended power control modifications. Please find listed below how you can independently modify your power control. For those who wish to have us perform the modifications, at no charge, please forward your power control along with a brief note to: Pneu-Dart, Inc. 15223 Route 87 Highway, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Model 193 customers: Please note: Associated holes are 90 degrees from the indicator number.

Using a #56 drill bit = 0.046" drill out the #1 hole.
Using a #54 drill bit = 0.055" drill out the #2 hole.
Using a #50 drill bit = 0.070" drill out the #3 hole.

Concerned customers with regard to excessive impact velocities at close range, we recommend starting with a #60 drill bit for the #1 power control hole (the smallest hole) test fire a group of 5 darts and move up to a #58 drill bit for the same hole (the smallest) followed with a #56 drill bit if desired impact speeds are not achieved with one of the first two options. Customers owning a 193 Stainless Steel may need to increase the #1 power control hole to a 0.052" by using a #55 drill bit.

Model 196 customers:

Using a #55 drill bit = 0.052" drill out the #1 hole.
Using a 1/16 drill bit = 0.062" drill out the #2 hole.
Using a #50 drill bit = 0.070" drill out the #3 hole.

Please note: Exercising extreme care, remove the power control by first removing the power control knob and extracting the power control from the gas block. The power control is secured in position via a spring, ball and ball detent. If you are not careful, the spring and ball may become dislodged from the power control. We highly recommend customers with a 196 who wish to have their power controls modified, return the projector to our address mentioned above.

Additionally, please view our updated power control charts for the 193 and 196 models.. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our offices toll free at (866) 299-3278 or (570) 323-2710.

Sincerely,

Blair D. Soars
President
