Whether your task is to medicate or sedate, Pneu-Dart has the ideal remote delivery system for you. Our disposable RDDs come in a broad array of sizes, are easy to fill, and are color coded for speedy identification.
Pneu-Dart Type ‘C’ disposable RDDs support a 13mm tail diameter and are designed to provide precise medication delivery in a convenient, inexpensive projectile. Color coded in orange, Type ‘C’ RDDs are only used with our cartridge-fired projectors. These RDDs are used with the following Pneu-Dart Model Projectors:
Pneu-Dart Type 'P' RDDs color coded in yellow, are for use with our CO2/Air projectors and Blo-Jector. These RDDs are used with the following Pneu-Dart Model Projectors:
Type 'U' RDDs are our most versatile and universal tail design for Pneu-Dart Projectors. Type U tails for 6cc – 10cc RDDs are our standard tail design for any projector. As an option, Type U tails have been created to support 0.5cc – 5cc RDDs as well. Many of our more seasoned customers may be familiar with these as ‘P’ Type RDDs with Flight Stabilizer Tails.
Working closely with our customers, we have designed and built a variety of Specialty RDDs. Our specialty devices include:
Our DNA extraction device is designed to remove a sample consisting of both the dermis and hypodermis material. Integrated with the aluminum nose cone is a stainless steel cutter measuring approximately 0.165” × 0.150” which envelopes a barbed “capture claw” to ensure sample retention. Field trials yield three independent DNA tests from a single sample. Upon impact, the device retains a sample and falls to the ground. Equaling all Pneu-Dart RDDs, our DNA devices are available in the following three tail designs: Type ‘C’ for our Cartridge-Fired Projectors; Type ‘P’ for CO2 and Air Activated Projectors; and Type ‘U’ with flight stabilizers.
Ideal for gathering tissue samples for analysis, the Pneu-Dart Biopsy device, much like the DNA device, contains a ferrule “cutter” which protects a three-barbed capture claw. Upon retrieval of the device post-delivery, simply unscrew the ferrule and extract the tissue sample.
Marking devices are designed to visibly mark the animal. Required marking media is now less than 1cc in volume. Note: We do not provide the marking media used in Marking Device.
MID’s are designed to inject the liquid while simultaneously placing a visible mark on the animal. Liquid delivery options for 1 cc – 3 cc are available. A variety of options are available. Call Pneu Dart Customer Care Providers for further details.
Easily track your animal with our 414 PLL (Phase Lock Loop) Transmitter RDD – a microprocessor controled transmitter with solid state components. Our new UNI-body case design fortifies the transmitter to withstand kinetic energy impact values FIFTEEN times greater than anything else on the market.
Available Liquid Capacities
Uniquely designed, Remote Animal Deterrent device is ideal for “scaring” off unwanted animals. This 1.5 cc RDD, scored along the sides, milled and tapped with a screw, ruptures upon impact producing a notable report!*
*The device must be filled with Pyrodex® powder. (Pyrodex® powder not included.)
Each of our RDDs are custom built per order and specifically designed to meet the demands of the customer. We have a variety of options to choose from when ordering your RDDs which include: Gelatin Collars, Wire Barbs, Flight Stabilizers, Cannula (Needle) lengths, and RDD sizes. Please take a look at what option(s) are best for you and your delivery needs.
Poly Bodies (.5cc - 1.5cc): With the advent of our patented Slo-Inject® technology, Pneu-Dart has fortified its plastic RDD body by transitioning over to an opaque polycarbonate resin. Equipped with a Type C or Type P tail, the new PolyCarb RDD is ballistically equal and structurally superior. Aluminum device bodies (3cc – 10cc): Made out of aluminum tubing, our RDDs are designed to ensure optimum performance under any condition.
Green and Red Gelatin Collars: Designed to assist in easy identification we have elected to use two colors for our Gelatin Collars. The traditional Green color is now used on all end-port discharge cannulas. The Red Gelatin Collars are now assigned to our Tri-Port (end and side port) discharge cannulas. Although different in color our gelatin collars function equally as they have in the past. Wire Barb: Used to retain the RDD into the hide of the animal. Flight Stabilizers: Used to stabilize the RDD during flight.
RDDs are available with 14-gauge cannula in lengths of 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, 1”, 1 1/4”, 1 1/2” and 2”. (13-gauge cannula also available) RDDs 1.5 cc through 10 cc are equipped with a gelatin collar. 0.5cc - 10cc can be ordered with a wire barb. 3/8” cannula are available in plain only. 1/2” cannula are available in gelatin collars or wire barbs. We do not recommend wire barbs or gelatin collars on 1/2 cc or 1 cc devices; however, they are available at an additional cost. Gelatin collars are comprised of an inert material retaining the RDD in place until the injection is complete. After several minutes it will liquefy, allowing the RDD to fall freely from the animal.
