Atlantic City Invitational weekend review
Cooper Davis went 2 for 3 and capped his weekend off with a career best ride in the championship round and second place finish overall for the event. Cooper’s 93.75 on Smooth Operator clinched his 11th round win of the season, which leads the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast series. His personal best score is also the highest score of the season to date. Davis earned 355 world points and moved up two spots to seventh in the PBR world standings with 2,385 points.
After first injuring his groin mid-August in Nashville Jess Lockwood re-aggravated the injury during the first-round last week in Springfield. Subsequent MRI with Dr. Tandy Freeman revealed a partial tear requiring an estimated a 8 – 12 week recovery time which will sideline Jess for the remainder of the season. For now, surgery is not required, and Jess is aiming for a return to competition at the world finals in November. I’ll keep you informed as the finals draw closer with any injury related news. Jess is currently tenth in the world standings with 1967.50 points.
